  2. When turning the ignition, the engine will not crank or turn over. The starter just makes a clicking noise and is unable to turn the engine over. The lights and other electrical accessories do not work at all.
  3. Have to use jumper cables to start the engine. After a jump start the battery does not seem to take a charge from the alternator.

These symptoms can also be signs that some electrical source is pulling electrical current from the battery when the ignition is turned off. It can also be a symptom of a faulty alternator that is not charging the battery even though the engine is running. It is also important to keep fluid in the battery if it is one that requires this type of maintenance.
